Clare Reading & Writing Scheme

"Literacy involves the integration of listening, speaking, reading, writing and numeracy. It also encompasses aspects of personal development - social, emotional and is concerned with improving self-esteem and building confidence. It goes far beyond mere technical skills of communication." (National Adult Literacy Service)

What we do: We provide classes for adults who wish to improve their reading, writing, spelling and basic maths. Learners can work on a one-to-one basis with a volunteer tutor or in a small group situation.

Tuition is free and confidential.

When and where: Day and evening classes are available in a variety of locations around Clare. Learners can choose the location nearest their home.

 

Classes Available: Some learners prefer to learn on a one-to-one basis with their own private tutor others may wish to join our group classes. We offer certified classes in woodwork, computers and Junior and Leaving Certificate English. A popular choice for many learners are our Themed Literacy Classes in subjects such as:
